Additional Information

Lynn Lais works in the restored and expanded Winterberg House. Once a drovers' inn on the National Road, the Winterberg House was the first cabin to be moved to Spruce Forest Artisan Village.

Lynn accepts commissions for special orders. Please call or visit him at the pottery.

Lynn grew up in Kansas and studied pottery at Hesston College, Goshen College, and Wichita State University. For three years he worked for ceramic artists in Belgium and Switzerland. There he refined his skills and decorating techniques.

Lynn has been a self-employed studio potter since 1981. He turns out a limited annual production of utilitarian pottery, including mugs, bowls, pitchers, and casseroles. He also creates a number of one-of-a-kind platters, planters, and other larger vessels. Lynn draws the inspiration for his pottery forms and brushed designs from Northern European and other folk traditions. He has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows, and his work can be found in collections in the United States and Europe.
