Spruce Forest Artisan Guild seeks Guest Artists for one-month residencies in Alta's Cabin and John's Little House, both centrally located studios in the Artisan Village.

A visit to the Village is FREE, and a small Village Tour Guide is available in artists studios for visitors to keep. A larger book with more detailed information is also available to visitors to use and return.

Pottery Teaching Studio offering classes
Spruce Forest Artisan Village will open the new Riverview Community Clay Studio this spring, offering pottery classes for adults on Thursday evenings 6-9pm, beginning May 19. Resident potter Lynn Lais will teach the pottery classes.
The Riverview Community Clay Studio will have 6 pottery wheels and two worktables of different heights. Student work will be fired in cone 6 electric kilns. Glazes and pottery tools are available in the studio.
Registration for the adult pottery class is now open. The class fee is $120 for 3 hours of instruction per week for six weeks, plus extra studio time on other days for students to practice. There is an additional cost for clay, but tools and equipment will be available for general use. To register, call the pottery at Spruce Forest: 301.895.5932.

Family Day June 15:
Need something to do after the kids are done with school? Come and enjoy a day with the family at Spruce Forest’s Family Day! On June 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Spruce Forest will host area non-profit organizations in providing kid-friendly take-home crafts and activities. Scavenger hunts, clothespin doll making, pot-a-plant, and more await the day. Admission is free.
